A recurring question is how we get PB to grow locally and in countries. Listen to a couple of examples and take part in conversation about scaling up. 
Initiative Budgeting in Russia is an umbrella brand for various Russian practices involving citizens in the budget process, based on a similar principle of civic engagement and participation. It covers today about 50 Russian regions and federal administrative entities of the 85 that compose the Russian Federation. The total budget for debated projects increased from around US$ 43 million in 2015 to US$ 125 million in 2016. (Yves Cabbanes, april 2018 )

A number of countries have decided that the participatory budgeting should be used at regional or municipal level or in certain activities such as school. Indonesia have decided on participatory budgeting on municipal level and now 72 000 municipalities are inviting citizens to prioritize how resources are to be used. In Portugal, a specific decision has been made for PB in the school and leisure sector.
